The Regional Bufetat, Northern Norway
Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs is the Norwegian governmental office for the welfare and protection of children and families. The Bufetat is organised in five regions under the central leadership of directly linked to the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs. Its main objective is to provide services of high and accurate quality to children, young people and families in need of assistance and support regardless of where in Norway they live. The activities of Bufetat encompass assistance to municipalities in child welfare cases, the running of institutions for children, foster home services, family-based measures, family counselling, and initial handling of applications for adoption.

The Regional Bufetat in Northern Norway will function as a productive partner included in a national working group that will work on and follow the model of the workshop in Norway, and further recruit participants to the workshop. The Bufetat will also follow the project through exchange seminars and by participation at reference level. The Regional Bufetat is going to play an important role for dissemination to the other regions.
